When someone has been at work for a while they can have a collection of different pension plans, life policies, some savings, a mortgage and, perhaps, a family. What they probably don't have is much idea as to how all these fit together and how, by being just a little smarter with their money and planning better, they can ensure a brighter financial future.
Financial priorities differ. For one, it might be ensuring early retirement; for others, paying off the mortgage early or covering school fees. Most are concerned that their loved ones are covered financially in the event of their death. There are so many financial products and so many ways to go about things - how can you make sure that you're paying the right amount into the right policy?
We know that most people have good intentions when it comes to financial planning but let's face it, often life's a bit too short and then there's the issue of cost - no-one wants to pay loads of commission or fees just to find out some time down the line they've got a third rate product. So what's the most common result? Doing nothing and hoping for the best.
We've been advising clients for over 20 years and we know how difficult it is for people to get it right on their own. Tax implications, product selection, varying policy terms, identifying the proper amount of provision for a particular priority - all are real issues.
It's easier if you know all the right questions to ask, have gained financial planning qualifications, have detailed product knowledge and have the software to bring this all together in a readable report. Even then, though, circumstances change - along with the law of the land - and products evolve, so a good financial plan has to regularly reviewed to stay on track. Who brings all this to the table? We do!
Our monthly retainer programme is a purely advisory, holistic financial planning service developed to specifically address the above issues. It can be utilised by progressive employers to provide a valued benefit to selected staff members. An affordable monthly fee covers the cost of the initial fact-find, report preparation and ongoing review.*
If the report indicates that a financial product needs to be arranged, the client is completely free to arrange this with whichever provider he or she chooses. Of course, we can help with this aspect of the process as a separate transaction, if required.
Based around a comprehensive and confidential fact-find, we provide an initial report which summarises the current financial situation. From this we build a future financial plan which is then regularly reviewed and updated - the frequency of the review depending on the level of service selected: -
Bronze – annual review @ £30 per month per person**
Silver – half yearly review @ £60 per month per person**
Gold – quarterly review @ £120 per month per person**
As an integral part of the process, your firm agrees to allow work-based access to one of our financial planners and may even cover or subsidise the cost for key employees as part of a flexible rewards package.
